1. Who we are
This policy explains how Sonar Digital, Inc. (“Sonar,” “we,” “us”) handles information collected through sonardigital.co (the “Site”). We’re a marketing, advertising and analytics agency at 35 Pleasant Street, Portland, Maine 04101.
This policy covers the Site only. Information we handle for clients under a services agreement is governed by that agreement.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us. When you fill out a form, email us or call us, we collect what you share, such as your name, email address, phone number, company name and the details of your inquiry. Form submissions and email correspondence are stored in our customer relationship management (CRM) system, HubSpot.
Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, we and our service providers collect information about your device and visit, such as IP address, browser type, device type, approximate location, pages viewed, time on page, how you arrived at the Site, and actions such as form submissions. Much of this comes from cookies and similar technologies (see section 4).
We don’t ask for sensitive information such as health, financial or government ID details, and we ask that you don’t send it through the Site.
3. How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to your inquiry, follow up about our services and keep a record of those conversations in our CRM
- Run, maintain and secure the Site
- Understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve it
- Measure and improve our own marketing, including advertising and marketing emails to people who have opted in (you can unsubscribe at any time)
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our [Terms & Conditions]
We don’t sell your personal information.
4. Cookies and tracking technologies
The Site uses cookies and similar technologies for:
- Necessary functions, such as keeping the Site working and remembering your cookie preferences
- Analytics, to understand traffic and how pages perform
- Advertising, to measure our ad campaigns and show relevant ads on other sites
You can accept or decline non-necessary cookies through the cookie banner, and change your choice at any time. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Our [Cookie Policy] has more detail on cookie categories.
5. How we share information
We share information only as needed to run the Site and our business:
- Service providers that host the Site, deliver email, process form submissions, provide analytics and run advertising, under terms that limit how they use it. Our CRM and email provider is HubSpot, which stores contact details and form submissions on our behalf ([HubSpot privacy policy])
- Advertising and analytics platforms, through the tags described in section 4
- Legal and safety reasons, when required by law or to protect our rights, users or others
- Business changes, such as a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, where information may transfer to the new owner under this policy
6. How long we keep information
We keep inquiry and contact information for as long as needed to respond and to maintain our business records, and then delete it or keep it in a form that doesn’t identify you. Analytics data is kept according to the retention settings in our analytics tools.
7. How we protect information
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections and limited access to the systems that hold your information. No website or transmission is completely secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security.
8. Your choices and rights
You can:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it
- Opt out of marketing emails using the unsubscribe link in any email
- Decline non-necessary cookies through the cookie banner or your browser settings
- Opt out of personalized ads through [Google Ad Settings] and the [Digital Advertising Alliance]
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local privacy laws. To make a request, email hello@sonardigital.co. We’ll respond within a reasonable time and may need to verify your identity first.
9. Children
The Site is intended for businesses and isn’t directed to children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
10. Links to other sites
The Site links to other websites and platforms. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this one.
